Yesterday and today have been a bit tough. Stepping away from social media as a whole has been rougher than I first thought. The reason I say it's harder isn't for personal reasons though. Sure, being an extrovert I enjoy people interaction. I enjoy it quite a bit. And lately, I have utilized social media to connect with friends, new and old, domestically and abroad! But what I'm finding to be harder is not utilizing the social networks for business. Connecting with clients, updating my business wall, checking @replies on twitter... I feel like I may not be giving it the appropriate amount of attention...

Four days have passed since I decided to give Social Media the boot for 30 days. And I think it would have been far easier to deal with save for the fact that yesterday, there was a "crisis". A digital crisis that required massive amounts of panic on my part. But I realized that all I needed to do was breath, think clearly, and focus. Yeah. Okay. That's "simple". It's day two of my Social Media Detox and I have to say that this is surprisingly easier than I expected (so far). My production level's are noticeably higher as well. Not only am I able to concentrate more, but I'm also able to enjoy a relaxing evening without worrying about status updates or tweets clouding what I'm actually doing. I also realized that there were social "games" that I forgot to deactivate for the duration as well (Gowalla, Foursquare) which I took care of this morning. But then came the needing to check on my pet projects... uh oh.

So, with the latest updates that have come from Facebook and privacy issues that have arose from it, coupled with the fact that I have integrated social networks into just about every facet of my life, I have decided to go on a 30 day Social Media Detox. Say what? You got it. I will be "going dark" for the next 30 days. No posting, no tweets, or anything. Detaching for a while. Why am I doing this? I'll get to that in a second.
But what does the detox entail? I'm so glad you asked (or didn't), because I'm about to explain it to you here. Here goes:

Just saw today that the EA SPORTS Active is getting a bit of an upgrade. And that excites me. One of the hardest things for me as of late has been the interruptions of the wire connecting the Wii Remote to the Nunchuck. Especially during the baseball set (particularly the batting). But news today that EA SPORTS Active 2.0* (working title) is coming out is like stepping on a scale and seeing you've lost 4 lbs. Here's why:
WIRELESS: Unlike the original EA SPORTS Active set up (Nunchuck and Wii Remote), you receive a leg strap & wrist monitor.
