Inspiration, Design, & Jack Bauer

May 29, 2010

So tonight, I had the honor of attending a meeting with some brilliant minds. We’re all working collectively on a project that is already established, but it’s going to the next level. The team assembled is made up of some of Augusta’s brilliant and brightest. We all bring equal amounts of skill sets to the group. There are some people that you encounter that makes an impact on you. And in the design/creative community, there are always those that come out of the woodwork to really WOW you with their creativity. I enjoy developing different concepts. It helps me work a portion of my brain that most don’t get to exercise on a daily basis. And when I meet someone that has a different style than my own, yet a definitive creative style, it inspires me to push myself creatively.

I almost feel like I’m about to step into a new era of my own design styles. Something that I admire is minimalist designs. There’s something incredibly elegant about stark contrast. When I see someone putting their best foot forward, it makes me want to push my personal limits. It’s like personal continuing education. Never stop learning. Always aim to improve your craft. That’s what I’m trying to do. Personal Improvement.

Speaking of improvement, tomorrow is my last day of no social media (well, technically “today” as it’s 10 minutes to 1 a.m.).   I think that I’ve done a good job. Save for a few Tweetdeck flubs, I’ve managed to stay away from social media for personal use. I’ll give my full synopsis tomorrow, or Monday perhaps… But tonight, I reserve the rest of this blog for my farewell to a good friend.

No I will not resize this picture. I will not shrink it down. Do you see the weapon in that man’s hand?  If you know who he is, you will understand that he is not afraid to use it. Anyone that knows me understands that I am a huge 24 fan. Unfortunately, 24, as a series, has come to an end. Though the “official” word is that the studios wanted to progress to a movie, the fans understand that Jack forced Fox to put the show to an end because of a Mole operating on the Fox and Friends morning crew. This is all apart of his plan. Jack ALWAYS has a plan.

**Spoilers**

Some have complained that the show went out on a “wimpy” note. Those that have complained have been interrogated and were taken out in defense of national security.  Honestly, I think 24 ended on the perfect note. This whole season, we’ve seen the Best of Jack (with his grand daughter), romantic Jack (sexy time with Freckles Bauer, who met her untimely end mere moments after being graced with Jack’s “presence”… who some believe instantly made her a sniper magnet), Vengeful Jack (Starbuck know’s what I’m talkin bout… as do the full Russian body guard unit… along with the Russian that ended up with a fire poker in the chest), and Smart Jack.

Having the final 3 hours devoid of actually @$$ kicking isn’t necessarily a bad thing. you wouldn’t want to end the series finale with a cliffhanger. What happens if talks for the movie fall through? Wait… what am I talking about, Jack would make SURE that the movie made it through… at all cost, because Dammit, we are running out of time!

I’m really looking forward to where they take Jack though. With how the series ended, with a man who has given his all to defend the country he loves time and time again,  now hunted by that country (along with Russia… come on, Fire poker through the chest… that’s harsh… even for Soviet Russia), I’m fully prepared for a motion picture. I’m sorry but I don’t think network television could handle it. Our cable boxes would surrender like the French if they tried to pull that off.

One last thing of note is the final discussion between Jack and Chloe. What a perfect way to end the series. Chloe seemed to be the only one that got Jack’s every side. The good and the bad. Mary Rajskub’s portrayal of Chloe was spot on perfect. Great job guys. Well played. Who will show up in the motion picture? Tony? Naked Mandy? A flashback of Palmer? Aaron Pierce? Give us the goods guys!

Now. To end this. I have a special message from Jack:
