2010, Nintendo, WeightBot, And How This Year Is Going To Rock!

The End is the Beginning is the End.
It's a new year, the technical end of the decade has begun. It's a time of fresh starts for just about everyone wearing a party hat on December 31st at 11:59. Like hitting the reset button after crashing into the first Goomba in Super Mario Bros. You just can't let it start that way. For me, it's the end of a 3 year, self imposed, exile from exercising. Let me give you a little back story.
Sometime in 2005, I was in Blockbuster Video perusing for a good family flick to watch with the family. A little girl taps me on the shoulder and tells me that I look like Carl from Family Matters. I didn't take to lightly to that and that changed my lifestyle forever. At the time, I weighed 285lbs. For a guy who's 5' 7.5", that made my scale shudder anytime I even walked by it. I started eating right, stopped drinking coffee, no more fried foods, sugars, and had an instant turn into a health nut. It was brutal. Cutting out coffee completely when you are used to at the very least 5 cups a day will cause massive headaches, the shakes, etc. But I made it through. I also tried numerous weight loss methods of exercise:
- Yourself Fitness (It was good, but a little slow for me)
- The Biggest Loser (This worked tremendously well for the first few months. Kept me motivated while watching the show before I found out it was full of false advertising)
- P90X (I stayed with this for 78 days of the P90X 90 day program. On day 78, my third child was born.)

- Weightbot by the wonderful guys at TapBots. You guys rock!
- CalorieKing (Amazingly intuitive program, check it out!)
- Wii Active for the Nintendo Wii (See Ma, video games CAN be good for you :P)
- Eating healthy portions
I will weigh in every 3 days, and post the screenshot from Weightbot with each post for Project 52. I will also print out my Calorie King log (which will include my exercise times/calories burned) into a handy dandy spreadsheet for you folks to follow along. And last but not least, I will tweet & facebook about my journey as I do it! My goal is to lose 55lbs (down to 165). My lovely wife has set some rewards/milestones for me.
- 35lbs lost: Clothes Shopping
- 55lbs lost: Roland V series drum set (I can haz nao plz? I hadz the weight but losted it...)
- If I keep the 55lbs off for the full 52 weeks, 3 tailor made suits. SWEET!!!!
Not a bad set of goals eh? So far, I've done the Wii Active workout 3 days in a row and I'm more sore now than I ever was doing P90X. Is that weird? Discuss!
