The Cat’s Out Of The Bag

So yes, the cat’s out of the bag. Who thought of that phrase? I mean really? Anyway, just wanted to make a quick post that I will go deeper into once things become a bit more final but… As some of you may have seen that I’m friends with on Facebook, I’ve been posting some very cryptic statuses about something that’s coming up in my life that’s pretty big. And it is, frankly. So here we go…

We moved to Augusta, GA in 2008 as I had taken a job working as the Director of IT for a mortgage company. About 6 months after the move, the financial world collapsed and I was out of a job. So Tash and I started our own business, and later a second business. Evince Unlimited and Augusta’s Choice was born. 5 years later, it is now time for a change. As I’m writing this, my heart is in my throat and I’m not sure why. Perhaps it’s because this is one of the biggest life changes as a family that we’ve encountered (other than adding another child to the family).

There isn’t a definite date set, but more than likely, within the next month or so, we will be bidding Augusta farewell. Our sights are set on Bend, Oregon and we will be hitting the road soon. Yesterday I made a post that said “Leaving, on a jet plane!” and that was meant literally. Sunday afternoon, I will be hoping on a plane and heading to Bend for a few days. I have a meeting with a firm out there that I’ve been corresponding with and if things go right, our move date may be bumped up WAY faster than I’m mentioning here.

So there’s no miscommunication, speculation, I just wanted to get the info out there now and I will be making a post on Augusta’s Choice on June 1, the 4 year anniversary of the site going live, that it will be going into “Static” mode and will be up for grabs. That’s right, AC will be for sale! So if you know someone in the Augusta Area that may be interested in continuing the mission, want the fan base, site and all its content… tell em to email me at buyme@augustaschoice.com.

A note to all of my current website clients: The wonders of the internet will allow us to continue to service you as usual. Most of you are simply hosting clients right now as it is so, most likely, you will see no difference. If you DO need some extra work, you’ll be able to email me as always except the email address will probably change (I’ll notify all of you) and we’ll get your requests done asap.

I want to thank everyone that helped me with your letters of recommendation and references for my resume site (which I’ll post in about 2 weeks so you guys can see what I put together) and for all of the support you guys have given Tash and I with Augusta’s Choice. It’s been a fun ride! So. What say you? The comment box is down below… gets to typing!
