So, the Tablet era of Apple is quite possibly less than a week away. There is speculation all over the net about what this new piece of hardware will be called. Apple has always tried to be “clever” with their product naming with gems like “Yikes!, Nichrome, Piltdown Man, Kaleidoscope, etc”. They then migrated to the i-Marketing campaign (iMac, iPod, iPhone, etc) and even followed suit with some of their software ex. iPhoto, iMovie, iDVD, Garageband (who dropped the ball on that one?). The rumors flying around the web, twitter, facebook, and other social networks are all abuzz as to what the soon to be released Tablet will be called? Most prominent are “iPad”, “iTablet” and “iTab”.
There’s an inherent problem with all three. Seriously, iPad? Sounds like a futuristic female sanitary napkin. iTablet sounds like something a pharmaceutical company would develop (can’t you just see Justin Long trying to get you to force a pill down your throat?). Yeah, me neither champ. And the iTab just sounds like you’ve been to the corner pub a few to many times that they’ve now set up a mac app just to make sure they keep track of how much booze you’re bumming off of ’em. Perhaps they’ll send PC to collect? Anyhow, I present to you the Top 10 names that the Tablet Mac will be called AFTER the launch by Microsoft/Linux enthusiasts. You’re part of the game will be figuring out which war camp says what!
