WebGeeks gotta eat too!

I had the pleasure of taking a moment today and going to lunch with members of Refresh Augusta.  If you’re not familiar with the Refresh concept, it’s a really good movement. From Refreshcities.org: Refresh is a community of designers and developers working to refresh the creative, technical, and professional culture of New Media endeavors in their areas. Promoting design, technology, usability, and standards. And that’s just it.  RefreshAugusta is a group of local designers/developers that are doing exactly that.  I’ve just signed up for the group and attended the monthly luncheon. Basketball Skinned Menu's About 7 of us made it to Somewhere In Augusta. Which is a groovy groovy restaurant. Sports themed, So many High Def

TV’s that I’m SURE they would/could spare one. And being that this is a Design meet-up,    I couldn’t help but notice and completely nerd out over their menu’s: That’s right, those bad boys are basketball skinned.  The food was good, there was some talk of different web methods, but predominately, it was nerdspeak.  Movies, comics, Star Trek, Lost, etc.  All in all it was a great time. But what it also showed me is that there are others out there, like me, that want our city to have the freshest face when it comes to design.  And that we can ban together to come up with great ideas, collaborate on projects, and just have a good time.  If you’re here in Augusta, and you’re a web designer/developer, graphic designer, programmer, script-er, ajax junkie, or just like to “tinker”.  I encourage you to check out www.refreshaugusta.com, and/or follow these guys on twitter: @oddzuki (shameless plug, but great guy all around) RefreshAugusta Logo @cdharrison @plutado @tgpo @prundlefly @clockworkfan If you’re not in Augusta, but would like to find out more about Refresh (and see if there’s one in your city), Go check out Refresh’s website www.refreshingcities.org and get signed up. Until Next time…
